Earlier this year I presented to you the lovely UNDRCRWN Spring '09 lookbook featuring Asher Roth and a myriad of kick-ass looks from the collection. Recently, the spirited streetwear label has released the looks from the second delivery of their Spring '09 collection and things are looking pretty good.
While UNDRCRWN certainly remains on top of their shit with new t-shirt releases, the true spectacle of this drop is their outerwear which consists of stadium jackets and some pretty unconventional, yet totally-satisfying tracksuits that are sure to turn heads now that it is nice and hot outside...

Nike Air Yeezy - Black/Pink

Well, people, it looks like we are making our way back around to round two and towards a colorway that is even more sought after than its predecessor: The Pink/Black combination that has set the internet on fire. Despite the fact that release day in New York went surprisingly well for the gray colorway, there has been some serious foaming at the mouth by people who really, and I mean fucking really want to get their greasy paws on a pair of the Black/Pink Air Yeezys come May 2nd... Because Nike was nice enough to release these shoes on a non-work day and all...
These kicks, like the ones from the April Release will be available for a retail price of $215, and bring your shank and switchblade because if money won't work out, you might have to stab someone for these shoes. (images courtesy of KicksOnFire)

Supra's Antwuan Dixon + Video

Traditionally speaking, I try to keep color out of everything that I write, but I can't help but address something that I have noticed over the last few years: Skateboarding is blowing up big time in the black community. I remember back in the day when I used to get my kick and push on, riding my Black Label Government Edition around The Village and Park Slope. I was one of the only black kids rollin' around on a skate deck, and that was just one of those things that I had to get used to.
However, with the influx of skateboarding into black culture via popular culture, things have changed. More times than not, you'll see me striking down a large majority of popular culture mostly on the premise that it is retarded, mastubatory or trivial, but for that one time out of ten, you'll find me accepting it with open arms. When it came to the introduction of individuals like Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco into mainstream hip-hop circuit, and skate culture became increasingly more aligned with hip-hop culture, it seems as if skating became more than what was percieved as a "white sport," metamorphosing into something more multicultural.
Increasingly so, we are seeing more products of this phenomenon. Not to say that cats like Supra's Antwuan Dixon and TK weren't skating before guys like Pharrell & Fiasco came onto the scene. They probably were. However, without this cross-pollination of cultures, it would have been interesting to see how accepting their communities would have been after producing professional skateboarders as opposed to professional small forwards. All I know is that, personally, as a lover of extreme sports, and at one point "the token black skater," I'm glad to see guys like Dixon and TK on the scene. I could have really looked up to guys like this ten years ago.
