Madonna Is Really Pimping That Ass Out In Her New LV Campaign

They say that ignorance is bliss. And though I love and have loved the Madonna Louis Vuitton Advertisements, I can't help but feel a slight inkling of angst, perhaps even disgust when examining the newest creations for the brand's F/W '09 campaign. No, it cannot be attributed to the disconcerting color inversion much-less the flamboyant sartorial choices, some of which, a great contrast to previous campaigns. But instead, it is the fact that I feel like I cannot get over the idea that Madonna really doesn't look this good. Sure, for a 50-year-old woman, she is unequivocally a dime in her age range, however, I think everybody is wise enough to assert that Madonna actually is quite wrinkly in comparison to other campaigns... And if they aren't then they'll be freaked out when they realize that the queen of pop actually looks like she is in dire need of some virgin souls.

Yes, the campaign is most certainly sexy and elegant in its own right, but whatever happened to opting for the latter route of being simply a revered "old head" like Kieth Richards, Francis-Ford Coppola, Mikhail Gorbachev and Sean Connery who have opted for campaigns that make their aged-ness elegant in its own right. But hell, I suppose things are different in the world of woman than they are in the world of men. Also, Gorbie, Coppola, Richards, and Connery are really fucking old compared to little old Madonna. But this age gap doesn't mean it's appropriate for her, Like, lets be real here, a middle-aged woman need pass the sex-symbol torch as opposed to clutching onto it for dear life. And considering how rich Madonna is, she clearly doesn't need to wear a 20-something's clothes to get paid. This made me reach a new disposition: Madonna's pimp turns out to be, oddly enough, Madonna. (via ViaComIT)

But hey, who says you can't look at her new campaign right?

Madonna's pimp has always been Madonna. She's always been the one promoting/exploiting herself, and she sometimes hits (the majority of her music) and sometimes misses (Sex Book- w/ the public, most movies). But that's how it goes when you're the one in control of things. I'd still much rather be her than a little puppet, a la Britney Spears and the lot.
