M.I.A. - "Bucky Done Gun (Manz+Futurecop! Remix)"

I think M.I.A. is highly talented but in the past I have found some of her music difficult to stomach just based simply on my personal music preferences. While her production is interesting, I have found her vocals to be spastic and hyperactive from time to time. Bucky Done Gun is certainly one of those songs that has historically been strong in production, yet weak in vocals. The Manz + Futurecop! remix to this song is certainly a welcome addition to M.I.A.'s arsenal of remixes of remixes... Do you follow? I like this particular piece because it completely strips the original song of its beat and musters up a new identity from scratch. As opposed to drums and horns, you are greeted to a much more electronic feel faintly reminiscent of something you think you would hear in Blade Runner. Of course, M.I.A.'s vocals aren't particularly the shiner in this track either. At least not for me. However, considering the girth of her fan base, I think critics of her work such as myself are few and far between... At least the woman is getting her share of play now these days.
